Foreword to our protection fees

For each of our little animals we charge a fixed nominal fee to cover part of our expenses caused by breeding (feed, bedding, hygiene, accessories, veterinarian... the list is almost endless).

Of course, we don't raise a profit here, quite the opposite: because rearing often costs us more than the placement of the puppies could bring in again. However, that is perfectly okay for us and no reason to drive up the protection fees immeasurably despite the steadily rising inflation rate. It is our hobby and our passion to do this breeding with body and soul and to make other fur nose owners just as happy with our offspring as we are.

Our protection fees

Our regular protection fee is 20,00€ for Standardized animals and 35,00€ for Dwarfs

Age, sex and color are of course irrelevant. For us it is incomprehensible to determine the value of each animal by its appearance. Every animal is unique, no matter what it looks like or what sex it is. The only exceptions to the protection fees are the coat types Harley and Fuzz among the dwarves (more on this below). Our regular protection fee applies to Harley and Fuzz in standard size.

Why a higher protection fee for Dwarf?

Our offspring are usually ready to go to their new homes at six weeks of age - however, due to their slower growth, our dwarves stay with us for at least two weeks longer, partly to avoid jeopardizing their socialization, as integration into an existing pack would not really be advisable for dwarves of this age. (But not impossible). The longer stay naturally costs additional time, space and money. Furthermore, the breeding and rearing of dwarfs is more problematic than that of standard animals. The litters are much smaller, averaging 4-5 puppies, and the animals take longer to reach breeding size. Unfortunately, some of the girls we raise do not reach the ideal size. Due to potential birth problems, animals that are too small are excluded from breeding. Unfortunately, some females also show problems with lactation (suckling), especially after very strenuous births, which is why we always have additional foster litters.

Dwarfs in longhair or fuzz

As already mentioned, breeding dwarfs is somewhat more problematic, especially with regard to Harley and Fuzz. With these coat types, even standard animals often have problems with suckling or lactation, which is why more breeding is done with carriers and with foster mothers. Of course, there are also Harley and Fuzz females that can lactate and suckle perfectly, but unfortunately this is not yet the rule. This is one of the points we are currently working on. Especially in this branch of breeding there are unfortunately more rejects than suitable breeding animals and only a few perfect offspring for placement. Harley and Fuzz Dwarf stay with us for at least 8 weeks.

The protection fee for dwarfs with the coat types Harley or Fuzz is therefore 45,00€.
